Black Country Living Museum

Y5 went on a trip to the Black Country Living Museum to enchance our understanding of the topic we are learning about – ‘Changes over time’. We enjoyed finding out about the different ways of life and the types of houses and shops that people in Victorian times would have be accustomed too. We even had a lesson at school where Mrs Penfold, Mrs Davies and our parent helpers got told off for their nail varnish!!!!

A day of Welcome

As part of Refugee week we look at different ways to express welcome and courage. In groups of 4 we created our own ‘Courage Trophies’ these trophies have been created to show courage and support to others who join our school.

Reception in Wonderland

Reception’s Trip to Wonderland

Reception had a lovely day visiting Wonderland in Telford. The children enjoyed exploring all the different nursery rhymes and fairytales and loved spotting characters they recognised.

Alice read us the story of The Three Little Pigs, and everyone listened beautifully. We then spent some time keeping cool in the shade of the forest, which was a nice break from the warm weather.

When we returned to school, we finished the day with a picnic and talked about our favourite parts of the trip. The children had a wonderful time and made lots of happy memories.

Week 4 – Summer 2 – ‘The Ugly Duckling’

🌼 This Week in Preschool!

We’ve had a busy and exciting week exploring The Ugly Duckling! The children loved creating shape ducks, using their knowledge of shapes to describe what they made while practising their scissor skills. ✂️🟡

To stay cool during the heatwave, we enjoyed lots of water play 💦. The children sang 5 Little Ducks and showed brilliant understanding of 1 more and 1 less through playful counting.

They also had great fun making fruity water “cocktails”, exploring pouring, filling, and experimenting with different containers—fantastic early maths and sensory learning.

In Forest School, the shade of the trees kept us comfortable as we searched for bugs, built dens, and explored the natural world around us. 🌳🐛

A wonderful week full of creativity, exploration, and outdoor adventures.
