Yearly Overview
Curriculum Framework Overview – Nursery
Nursery experiences
Autumn 2 Our theme this term is Celebration. We have a lovely treat of the Little City Company coming in to Nursery, where they set up a mini city with lots of different role-play area for the children to explore. This links to our theme by the children getting to know about different celebration such as Christmas and Diwali, where the children will get to dress up and act out parts of the celebrations. 11th November 2026.
Spring 2 Our theme is Farming. This term we have the Living Eggs Company deliver us 10 chicken eggs which we get to watch hatch and grow in to young chicks. This links to our faming topic by the children getting to see how hens lay eggs and they hatch in to chickens. We will be looking at how the chicks change and how they have features that help them grow and feed. Date to be confirmed.
Also this term we have the Farm on Wheels come and visit us. They bring a range of animals for the children to pet, feed and hold. This links to our topic by the children getting to see a range of animals that live on a farm first hand. It also gives the children the knowledge of what foods we get from the animals. e.g. milk from cows. Friday 26th February 2027 (this is an optional cost)
Important days
On Monday we have P.E. which is delivered by our sports coach Mr Morgan. We ask that your children come with trainers or pumps on their feet so they can take part safely.(children attending AM session only)
On Friday we have Forest school. Morning children are to be dropped off at the gate for Forest School dressed in their puddle suits and wellies. Afternoon children will be dropped of at the usual Nursery door dressed ready to go to Forest school with their puddle suits and wellies on.
