Year 3 – World First Aid Day
In Year 3, for World First Aid Day, we looked at bites and stings. We looked at the different animals that can bite or sting and then we sorted the animal into whether they bite or sting.
We then looked at how to treat bites or stings and what to do if someone suffers from an allergic reaction after a bite or a sting.
Week 2 ‘We are Family’
We have had a fantastic week in Preschool and the children have been busy enjoying lots of new experiences!
This week, the children took part in their first P.E. session with Mr Morgan. They had great fun practising their ball skills, learning how to throw, catch, roll and control a ball while developing their coordination and teamwork skills.
The children have also been exploring the story “We Are Family”. Through discussions and creative activities, they have been talking about their families and what makes each family special and unique.
As part of this learning, the children created their own self-portraits, carefully looking at their features and expressing themselves through art. They also enjoyed making faces using playdough and a variety of small parts, showing great imagination and creativity.
Another highlight of the week was our first Forest School session of the year. The children loved spending time outdoors, digging, searching for bugs, climbing and sliding. They showed curiosity, confidence and enthusiasm as they explored the natural environment and worked together with their friends.
We are very proud of how well the children have settled into the new term and look forward to many more exciting learning adventures in the weeks ahead! 🌟
Y2 First Aid Day
We learnt all about what to do in an emergency. We found out that an emergency is a dangerous situation that needs immediate help. We now know that we call 999 and ask for the emergency service we need. This could be police, fire or ambulance. When we call, we have to tell the operator what has happened and where we are. We know that we must never call 999 if it is not an emergency.

First Aid Day Year 6
As part of First Aid Week this week, our Year 6 classes learnt how to help if someone is choking. We used the St John Ambulance online resources to learn and practise the 6 simple steps to follow in an emergency.
The children listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions and had the opportunity to practise the steps with their classmates. It was a valuable session that helped our pupils develop important first aid skills and the confidence to know what to do if they ever find themselves in an emergency situation.
Well done, Year 6, for taking your learning so seriously! 👏
Week 2 Weekly Learning
This week in Year 1, we have enjoyed exploring our new class text, My Dog Smells Like Smelly Socks. As part of our English learning, we have been discovering similes and thinking about how they make our writing more interesting. The children worked brilliantly in pairs to create some of their own imaginative similes, sharing lots of creative ideas with each other.
In Maths, we have been developing our number knowledge by matching Numicon shapes to number words. The children enjoyed using practical resources to support their understanding and build confidence with numbers.
Our provision time has been full of collaboration and creativity. The children have particularly enjoyed our small world play area, spending time exploring and creating stories with our fantastic castle. It has been wonderful to see their imaginations come to life through play.
One of the highlights of the week has been observing the children in our book corners. It is always lovely to see them sharing stories with friends, discussing characters and pictures, and developing a real love of reading.
We are very proud of all the enthusiasm, teamwork and creativity that Year 1 have shown this week. We look forward to another exciting week of learning ahead! 📚✨🏰🔢

Spot loves his mum
This week we have been looking at our families and people who are special to us. The children have been creating houses using the building materials and the paints and talking about who we live with. We also set up a baby care station where we had a go at feeding, bathing and dressing the babies.
