EKO Art Project Y6

At the beginning of the year, Y6 had the opportunity to visit Weston Park for a day working with EKO (Educating Kids Outdoors) as part of a creative arts project in connection with the Rose Patterson art gallery. The funding obtained from the Telford and Wrekin arts society allowed 5 schools to have this opportunity, and we were lucky enough to be chosen.

We spent the day making sculptures inspired by Salvador Dali’s paintings of dream-like elephants. We looked at the local bird life in Telford and then made our own sculptures in the abstract style of Dali, which were then displayed as part of the Rose Patterson Art Gallery ‘Halls Young Artist’ competition (on exhibition at Weston Park). There were 240 birds altogether that have delighted many members of the public since their creation! Well done to all involved in this project!
