Counting the beans for Jasper’s Beanstalk. Creating their own flower gardens, retelling the story in the tuff tray. The children also revisited prior learning by retelling the story of The Very Quiet Cricket.

May Stay and Play
The children and staff would like to thank all the grown ups who attended our Stay and Play.
All the children and staff had a wonderful time at our Stay and Play this week. The children really enjoyed showing all their grown ups some of the wonderful things they do in Preschool.
Stay and play
This week we welcomed our parents and carers into Daycare for a stay and play session. The activities were all based around our story of the week ‘The runaway pea’. The children and their adults had a lovely afternoon exploring the different activities and catching some runaway peas.
Runaway pea
This week we read the story of the runaway pea.
We had a go at catching peas in the water tray and counting how many we caught with our nets. We made different vegetables from the story using the paints and the playdough and even made some funny pea faces.
The children also practiced their ball skills, rolling and catching them down the pipes in the garden.
Summer 1 week 5 ‘Little Miss Muffet’
This week the children have been learning the nursery rhyme ‘Little Miss Muffet’. They have enjoyed making their own porridge and writing the instructions for making porridge. The children have also been singing the nursery rhyme and playing instruments to accompany their singing. The children have also been looking at giving the spider the correct number of legs, using their numeral recognition and counting skills. They also enjoyed making their own spiders and webs like the spider who frightened Miss Muffet.
The very busy Spider
This week we read the story of the very busy spider. We spent the week making spiders and their webs using different materials. We caught and counted spiders in our tuff spot web and even had a go with a remote control spider called Harry.
