Year 6’s Leaver’s Celebrations are in full swing now!
We had a visit to West Midland’s Safari Park on Friday, and really enjoyed the opportunity to spend some quality time together with our friends in the sunshine!
Haberdashers’ Adams Band Delights Captain Webb Pupils
Captain Webb Primary School was delighted to welcome the Haberdashers’ Adams School Band for a special musical performance. The band, made up of 16 talented secondary school students, visited the school to share their love of music and perform a selection of songs for the children.
This wonderful opportunity was made possible through the ongoing partnership between Captain Webb and Haberdashers and their outreach lead, Dr Kate Hibbs, she works with a group of Year 5 pupils throughout the year. Thanks to her support and collaboration with Haberdashers’ Adams, our pupils were able to enjoy a memorable live music experience.
The band played a variety of engaging and enjoyable pieces, showcasing both their musical talent and enthusiasm. The children listened attentively and were thoroughly entertained by the performance, responding with great excitement and appreciation throughout.
Events such as this provide valuable opportunities for pupils to experience live music and to see older students demonstrating the rewards of dedication, teamwork and practice. It was inspiring for our children to watch the musicians perform with such confidence and skill.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the students of Haberdashers’ Adams School Band and to Dr Kate Hibbs for organising this special visit. It was a fantastic experience that brought great enjoyment to our pupils and created lasting memories for everyone involved.
Captain Webb’s Got Talent 2026
CWGT
Wow, how amazing was Captain Webb’s Got Talent this year?! We love putting on CWGT as it is a wonderful celebration of the incredible talents, creativity, and confidence of our pupils. We would like to say a huge thank you to every child who auditioned and took part. It takes courage to step onto a stage and perform in front of others, and every single participant should be incredibly proud of themselves.
The performances were truly amazing, showcasing a fantastic variety of talents, from singing and dancing to music, comedy, gymnastics and much more.
We are so proud of all of our talented pupils for making the event such a memorable success. A big thank you also goes to our staff, families, and supporters who encouraged our performers and helped make the event so special.
Congratulations to everyone who took part—you should all be extremely proud of what you achieved. We can’t wait to see even more amazing talent at our next school talent show!

Sport’s Day winners in Mrs Penfold’s class!
Mrs Penfold was extremely proud of all the efforts from her Y5 class. It was a fantastic sports day with lots of sportsmanship and encouragement from the children to each other. Here are our winner for the class!!

Les Trois Petits Cochons show!
The children were treated to a superb performance yesterday of The Three Little Pigs. However, the show had a twist … it was all in French!!!!
Well done to our amazing French club for performing Les Trois Petits Cochons to the whole school.

Year 2 Monster Mayhem
Back in spring our Year 2 pupils entered a competition where they had to design and draw their very own monster. Some of our pupils were lucky enough to have their designs published in the book MONSTER MAYHEM, which is now in our school library. We are very proud of them all!
Transition and Careers day
Preschool Transitions Week Fun! ☀️🌻
Despite the heatwave, the children thoroughly enjoyed their transition sessions this week as they explored all the exciting new experiences and opportunities available in Preschool.
Our summer-themed activities were a great success, with the children showing enthusiasm and creativity throughout. They enjoyed making beautiful flowers using playdough and painting bright, cheerful sunflowers. Outdoors, the children had lots of fun playing with the large parachute in the nursery garden and cooling off with water play, where they explored a variety of under-the-sea creatures.
In the mud kitchen, the children used flour dough and flowers to create imaginative recipes and potions. Their imaginations continued to flourish as they explored Rapunzel’s castle and engaged in role play with a range of castle-themed characters, including princesses, dragons, knights and their horses, wizards, unicorns, and many more.
To make the week even more special, we also celebrated our “Dress Up as Your Future Career” Day. It was wonderful to see the children proudly dressed as the careers they aspire to have in the future, sparking lots of conversations and imaginative play.
We are so proud of how confidently the children embraced their Preschool transitions and look forward to many more exciting adventures ahead! 🌟
Teddy Bear’s Picnic
Teddy Bear’s Picnic Fun! 🧸🍓☀️
This week, the children had a wonderful time taking part in our Teddy Bear’s Picnic!
The children were excited to bring their favourite teddy bears to nursery and enjoyed sharing their picnic food with their cuddly friends. They loved showing their teddy bears around the nursery, introducing them to all the different areas and activities.
Throughout the day, the children enjoyed playing a variety of games with their teddy bears, encouraging lots of laughter, imagination, and friendship. It was lovely to see the children caring for their bears and including them in their play.
A fantastic day was had by all, and we would like to thank everyone for helping make our Teddy Bear’s Picnic such a special event! 🧸❤️🌟
Y6 Leaver’s Disco
The Year 6 staff would like to thank all the parents who gave up their time in making sure the children had a lovely leaver’s disco last night. The children enjoyed their afternoon and we wish them the very best of luck on their new adventures!!
Teddy Bears’ picnic
This week we read the Teddy Bears’ picnic. We set up picnics in the garden and inside and focused on sharing out items with the bears. The children did brilliant counting and could collect a certain number of items when asked.
We used the playdough to make our favourite picnic food and used marks to create our own shopping lists. We finished the week off by making our own sandwiches with various fillings for our Teddy Bears’ picnic in the garden!
Good Luck Mr Davies
It is with mixed emotions that we say goodbye to Mr Davies as he embarks on an exciting new chapter.
Having been part of The Captain Webb team for over 10 years, Mr Davies has made a lasting impact on the lives of so many children and colleagues. He will be greatly missed by everyone who has had the pleasure of working and learning alongside him.
We thank him for all his hard work, support and dedication over the years, and we wish him the very best in his new role. We look forward to hearing all about his future successes.
