Year 3/4 Football match v Aqueduct Primary

On Friday 23rd we took a girl and boys Year 3/4 football team to Aqueduct Primary School for some friendly matches. Played in heavy rain and on muddy pitches the girls drew 3-3 in a tightly contested match and the boys were unfortunately beaten by a very good Aqueduct side although they still managed to score 5 goals. As always every child was a credit to Captain Webb.

Year 5 – Dodgeball Tournament

On Tuesday 27th we took 2 teams of Year 5s to a dodgeball tournament at Telford Tennis Centre. Team 1 narrowly missed out on a spot in the semifinals whilst Team 2 finished in 4th place, again just missing out on bronze medals.  Competing mostly against Year 6 children from other schools they did extremely well to be as competitive as they were.

Year 6 Walsall Art Gallery

This week Year 6 travelled to Walsall Art Gallery to take part in a wire and modelling workshop with a local resident artist. The children learnt all about how best to create wire sculpture and had a go at sculpting themselves. A wonderfully creative day out was had by all!

Reception Transport Trip

One of our highlights this week has been our exciting trip on a double decker bus and a train journey. We enjoyed learning about the different types of transport and what we would see at a train station. When we got back we enjoyed painting and creating our own double decker buses. Thank you to our wonderful families for joining us on our trip.

Year 1 Make Fruit Kebabs

In Year 1 we made a healthy snack as part of our DT unit on food and nutrition. We decided to make a rainbow fruit kebab so that it would be part of our 5 a day. We learnt that fruits and vegetables are full of vitamins and minerals that help to stop us getting poorly. We will be writing a set of instructions in English explaining how we did it.

Treat Friday

Due to healthy eating initiative, treat Friday will no longer take place after half term.  Children are welcome to bring in a healthy snack for them to enjoy during their break instead.  We will continue with it until the end of this half term.

NSPCC Number Day 6th Feb

On Friday, 6th Feb we will be marking the NSPCC Number Day.

Children will be invited to come to school dressed in something representing a number, bringing £1 for the NSPCC.

They are also welcome to bring in a board game with a mathematical element to it to share with their classmates.

We all go travelling by

This week we read the story we all go travelling by. We have explored all the different types of transport vehicles and turned our roleplay area into an airport.

We made our own passports, packed suitcases and talked about where we would like to go on holiday. We even set up a flight simulator in the classroom.

Uniform

Please ensure all uniform is labelled with your child’s name. It is extremely difficult to locate/return uniform if it does not have a child’s name in.
