Our visit to the Gurdwara

Last week, we visited the Gurdwara in Telford. This was to support our learning about sacred places that we have been doing in RE this half term.

The children have been learning about all the things you would find in a Sikh temple. Children found the visit extremely informative, and they discovered lots of facts about the Sikh religion including that Sikh’s are vegetarian, they believe in reincarnation and that every day, they have something called Langar at the Gurdwara. Langar is a community kitchen and, as part of it, free vegetarian food is served in the kitchens of a Gurdwara (a Sikh temple) every day.
