Year 2 in London

What a fantastic day we had on our Geography fieldwork trip to London!

The children had an amazing time spotting many of the famous landmarks they have been learning about in class. From high up on the London Eye to travelling along the River Thames on a river boat cruise, they were able to see so many of London’s iconic sights from different viewpoints. There was lots of excitement as they recognised landmarks and shared which ones were their favourites.

This fieldwork will also support learning back in the classroom. The experience will provide cross-curricular links with Maths as the children use statistics to analyse information from the trip. It will also give them real-life context and inspiration for our upcoming English unit, helping them to describe places and experiences they have seen first-hand.

The children were enthusiastic, curious and fully engaged throughout the day, making it a brilliant learning experience as well as lots of fun.

We would also like to say how incredibly proud we are of them all. Their behaviour was excellent and they represented the school beautifully. They’re are a real credit to both you as parents and to our school.
